Most people LOVE summer! Sometimes we love it a bit too much, so that it becomes a bit stressful.
Like, I HAVE to be outside if it is a sunny day!
I HAVE to go swimming as often as possible, even if I would rather stay in bed.
I HAVE to go out and see friends.
I HAVE to travel somewhere to make the most of it.
Stop right there.
Yes, all those things are magical. Beautiful and wonderful and amazing.
But only if that is what you want to do.
Allow yourself to take a deep breath and check in with what YOU want to do today.
I decided to share some tips for a mindful and present summer!
Do not stress about missing out.
There is no such thing if you follow your heart and soul.
Take a moment and breathe. Be still and listen to your soul. What do you want to do?
Be here now.
Stop and just be. What can you enjoy in this present moment? Can you be content with being where you are right now? Can you let go of any urges to be somewhere where you are not?
Be present with the elements.
Feel the earth beneath your feet. Walk barefoot if you can, and if you want to.
Listen to the wind in the trees.
Listen to the rain against the window, or feel the water caress your body as you go for a swim. Enjoy a glass of water on a hot day, or a cup of hot tea on a cold day.
Look at the stars, and breathe in their distant fiery energy. Light a candle and just sit with the flame. Take in the warm rays of the sun.
If you want you can write down the three things you enjoyed most about today. Large or small.
Don´t worry about what others are doing. Or what they might think you should be doing.
Stop. Ground. And be.
With love, Elin xx
