I believe that when we include moments of presence in our lives we enjoy it more, because we are there. We are not somewhere else, thinking about the past of of where we are going.
We have to allow ourselves to just be. We do not have to reach for our phones in every moment when we feel bored.
My mindfulness teacher told us of how she and her boyfriend had decided to, each time they had the impulse to reach for the phone, let the other person know the reason they wanted to look at it. Was it to check the weather? Check Instagram?
They actually both noticed how sometimes they stopped their impulse because they realised that they did not want to check anything specific.
And perhaps sometimes we can just let it be.
We can all find mindful moments in our daily lives. Eating, brushing our teeth, observing the clouds, dancing, or spending time with loved ones.
Let us all do one more thing in total presence today!
With love, Elin xx
