Priestess. Witch. Wild Woman. (Part 2)

Priestess. Witch. Wild Woman.
.
All of these and more.
Last week I shared a few words about my thoughts and my lived experience as a Priestess.
There is so much to talk about.

.
But what about the witch?
.
That word....

I did not call myself a witch until just a few years ago when it finally landed in my soul.
.
The witch and Priestess. Are they the same?
.
Probably. Yes.
.
Yet for me the words carry different energies. At least on some days.
.
The witch in me helps me to put my foot down. With a vengeance.
She helps me call upon the power in my yoni and womb and truly connect.
The witch is ready to crush patriarchy. Before lunch time, preferably.
.
But hey, isn´t that what a Priestess does too?
It sure is.
Confused yet?
That is life.
.
Words and labels carry different energy and meaning for different people.
.
I claimed the label Priestess after a three year training, and that was just the start.
The label Witch came much later, and it really landed in my body after spending 5 months in a coven led my the always amazing Lisa Lister..
.
I can´t say what being a Priestess or Witch should be for you, but what I can say for sure is that it is a continuous journey with many turns in and out of the labyrinth.
.
It is a label, a title we take on for ourselves because we make the commitment to lead a different kind of life.
.
What can it include, this kind of life? And how does one start? Curious?
.
Stay tunes, lovelies!
I will share more.
.

If you are curious of the path of the pagan and witch, then have a look at my online course
Awakening to the elements. It is a beautiful and powerful start, or a re-charge and re-connection process for any witch or wild woman looking to return to a more cyclic way of living, and re-awakening with witch within.

Priestess. Witch. Wild Woman (part 1)

Priestess. Witch. Wild Woman.
.
I am all theses things, these words, these labels.
And I am a hermit, I feel weak, less than, disconnected. dis-illusioned.
Sometimes I am a little bit of all of them at the same time.
.
The words, the labels are for me. Claiming the word Priestess after my three year training in Glastonbury was a way of stating how I want to live my life. What I am aiming for.
.
It was a start of my journey of calling back my power.
Of standing tall and proud as who I am.
Of not hiding behind masks.
.
I learned a lot in my Priestess training. It was truly life-changing. It was a roller coaster ride in and out of the labyrinth. Down into the cave and out again, only to go back in.
It was the start of something new.
.
I am so incredibly grateful for my teacher Kathy Jones and all the Sisters and Brothers I have met on that journey.
.
What about being a witch?
.
I will tell you more... Next week.
.

To pay or not to pay for Priestess trainings

A few years back I listened to a podcast by a witch in the US. She spoke about different topics, and I enjoyed many of the episodes. But when she started talking about Priestess trainings, and how she thought it was ridiculous to charge for trainings, I stopped listening.

Her argument was that learning how to become a witch or a Priestess was something that either we can do on our own, or that kind of knowledge can not be charged for. It should always be shared freely.

As you probably have understood, I do not agree.

My Priestess training was life-changing. It went to a depth I could never have reached on my own. The wisdom and experience of my teacher touched my heart and soul. Some of the sisters I met during the training have stayed some of my closest friends.

I am willing to pay for that.

Being guided through the Wheel of the Year for the first time, being introduced to the Goddess and all Her aspects, learning to know and feel the energy of the land. Learning how to facilitate ceremony, how to hold sacred space alone and with others. How to open up to the energies around me. And how to share that with others.

I am willing to pay from that.

When I came to my Priestess training I had been on the pagan path for about 6 or 7 years. I had learned a lot. But woman, I could not have become the witch and Priestess I am on my own.

Perhaps that is just personal. Some people might not need the guidance.

But I did. And I got it. And I am so grateful.

And the person who is teaching and sharing all her wisdom, why would she have to do that for free, in her spare time? It makes absolutely no sense to me.

It is one of the biggest blessings in my life, to be part of a worldwide Priestess community. To have been on such a roller coaster journey with my Sisters and Brothers. And to still be on that journey. Never ending. Learning more all the time.

What a blessing.

With love, Elin xx

What´s this New Year´s thing?

I feel like I don´t quite get this whole thing that New Year´s Eve is so special. For me the change in energy happens slowly and gradually, peaking at the Winter Solstice. So all this excitement and pressure to DO SOMETHING special on this evening is a bit strange for me.
My sense of change is gradual, as the energies slowly build towards the rebirth of Imbolc when the new spark of life is lit!

Saying that though, I did go to my friend´s house for a lovely dinner with some lovely women! We spoke about life, the year that has passed and what we want to call in.

As the Solstice energies are diminishing slowly I usually do a reading using oracle cards. This year I have done two readings designed by the lovely Sarah Cornforth. The first one was looking at what to leave behind and the second one was more about looking forward and seeing what I need to focus on.

Some cards were the same.... They both said I need to let go of the details! I am not quite sure how that is going to work, as I feel like I have just started understanding how looking at details can help me more forwards! So...I need to think about that one.

The other thing they both spoke about was that I need to listen to my heart. And I need to trust.
Well, that old trust thing!

But that was not what I came in here to write about! I was gonna share something about January 1st! I felt that my energy was unbalanced, and I did not feel grounded. So what is the cure for that?
Nature of course!

I packed my bag with some sage, sacred water, an apple, my rattle and my journal and headed off to a sacred place quite nearby. It is an ancient burial ground and ceremonial place.

I spent a couple of hours there with the stones and the trees and the magic of the land. And when I headed home I felt so much lighter.

I think the whole New Years Eve thing got me confused. I felt at odds with society. Well...nothing new there... And that is why I felt so weird. Also December was a very...challenging month, so I am so glad that I had the day to spend out there.

Mama Nature sure is a healer.

Love and blessings, Elin xx

What´s in a ceremony (Part 2)

Picture
In a post a couple of weeks ago (September 8th, 2018) I started writing about my experience of holding sacred ceremonies and why I love it so much.

I wrote about the connection to Goddess and to the energies of the different elements, and how the thing that strengthens that connection is practice and presence.

I touched upon calling Goddess in but I want to share more about that and also the experience of being in sacred circle and sharing our true selves with eacher other.

Calling Goddess in
In every ceremony, as I open the circle, I call Goddess in. Goddess is One. She is One with 10,000 names. She has different faces, or aspects, like Kali, Freja, Domnu or Oshun. They are like our own different roles at home, at work, with our friends.

As I get to know the different Goddesses I can sense their energies. I know intimately how The Lady of Avalon feels. I know it in my very essence.

So when I call Goddess in I may call on specific aspects or the Great Goddess. It depends on what ceremony I am holding. And I think it is perfectly fine to call on a Goddess that you wish to know, but do not know yet. How else can you get to know Her?

You can call upon Her in meditation and see how it feels. Just breathe with it and let it be as it is. Just know She is there. There is no need to doubt.

The sharing circle
Another thing that I always include in ceremony with others is the sharing circle. Normally I ask everyone to share something about themselves and why they have decided to come.
Other times we may be focusing on gratitude, abundance or  love. I then invite the participants to share something around that.

I love these spaces where we are held, heard and respected. When we share in sacred space there are no comments. No responses. Each person is allowed to speak without interruption.
This so rare in our society, and it always moves me so much.

I always find that everyone brings so much magic to the space and to the circle when they share from their heart.

This is where we find sisterhood and brotherhood. In  accepting spaces where we really take the time to see other people.

I love it! I love ceremony and I LOVE guiding people into a closer connection to Goddess and the energies of nature! Interested in finding out how I can guide you on this journey? Click here or read below.

I will share more about ceremonies and my own Priestess journey in later posts.

Sending you all my love,

If you also feel called to connect closer to Goddess and the elements I truly recomment my online course Awakening to the elements! This is what one woman wrote about it:

"The work in this course gave me a deepened contact with the elements - both the ones I felt comfortable with and those that felt more distant have become much more familiar.

I learned hidden, important things about myself through the meditations, it started a deep process which is still ongoing, almost a year later. It was very transforming for me.

The meditations by the way were all lovely, and I've continued to use them after the course! The imagery was easy to imagine and the voice of Elin is both soothing and focused.

If you have a wish to deepen your contact with the elements, or if you're new to the elements and just starting to get acquainted, you should give yourself this gift."
