Who do I admire? Who do I strive to be like?
Who inspires me, and why do they inspire me? In what was do they inspire me?
Women who inspire me are ones that do not apologise for being women. They shine. They speak out. They dance with their whole feminine energy, whatever anyone around them says. They radiate. They shout. They scream. They dance. They cry. They share. They laugh. They explore. They breathe in life to the full. They live - really LIVE. They are full of colour and vibrant energy and they follow their hearts.
My main warrior woman that I have loved for over 20 years is Tori Amos. I might not like all the music she has made lately, but her first four albums are for me something so powerful that they are etched into my heart and soul forever. They are alive. The power, the rawness, the pure love and pain that Tori shares in those songs are something I do not think I have heard anywhere else. In those songs she shares everything about what it is like being a woman. About being vulnerable and about being strong. About being horny and about being desperately hurt. She sings about love, hate, men, sex, relationships, sin and pleasure.
It speaks straight to my soul.
I have never worn out a CD before, but two years ago I had to replace my copy of Boys for Pele.
I love women who create and inspire. Louise L Hay is a role model for me, since she continually works for JOY and happiness. She radiates it. She blesses everything. She believes that her thoughts create her reality, or how she experiences it. And I am so inspired and have worked so much with her affirmations and other ways of being and I KNOW it works.
I so admire her persistence and love for the world.
I love Oprah. Yes, Oprah! She is such an amazing woman. She has created a true empire, with what I experience as love as the foundation. She is a spiritual seeker and a kick-ass business woman!
She has done so much work on herself to find out who she is and is dedicated to helping others find themselves and become the best version of themselves they can be. The best we can be. The best I can be.
And I am talking on a personal development and spiritual level.
Because that is what is important in my life. Well, many things are important. Family, friends, love, adventure and abundance.
But I want to travel through it all true to myself. Not hiding behind masks. Not pretending to be someone I am not. Not being stopped by fear.
I want to know myself. I want to express my creativity, my spirituality and my all-out-crazy-dancing-passionate-woman self! I want to be the pure radiant version of me.
And I know that inspirational women can help me on my ever-continuing journey.
Love and blessings on your journey, Elin
PS: There are MANY other women who inspire me! Like...for example...
SARK, my mum, Leonie Dawson, Kathy Jones (my Priestess teacher), my amazing soul-sister and dear friend Annabel DuBoulay, Malala, Charis Melina Brown, Mother Teresa and many, many more!
